Over the course of 3 years, Allegheny Health Network (AHN) designed and constructed six new Cancer Centers throughout western Pennsylvania to provide innovative, comprehensive cancer to the region. MCM services included budget and schedule management as well as all transition planning and facility activation of all project sites. Additionally, MCM assisted the Cancer Institute leadership team in the development of a network wide operational plan for the cancer program.
The $182 million program is comprised of six Cancer Centers including the 90,000 square feet flagship facility at Allegheny General, as well as five regional outpatient community Cancer Centers averaging 33,000 square feet each.
The flagship serves as the Cancer Institute’s “hub” for all AHN’s cancer-related academic and research activities while also housing quaternary medical and radiation oncology programs. The Institute uses advanced technology to research and develop diagnostic tests that find cancer at its earliest stages.
