The renovation of the historic 60,000 sq Stager-Beckwith Mansion on Cleveland’s Millionaire’s Row provided a new Conference Center, Administrative Offices, Sports Center, Classrooms and President’s Living Quarters for the former Myers University.
MCM was closely involved with the University’s Board to secure historic tax credits and conservation easement equity. MCM assisted in structuring a financing package to utilize Cleveland Empowerment Zone loans as well. MCM’s ability to manage and work within a public, private and institutional partnership was a key factor in the project’s success.
The preservation of the historical fabric challenged the team when renovating and updating this 140-year old building. All preservation guidelines were carefully met while achieving the installation of new mechanical, electrical and plumbing infrastructures. In addition to the challenges often found in historic restoration, MCM successfully managed the multiple stakeholders.
