MCM Company, Inc. was hired as the Design-Builder for the Cardio-Vascular Centers of Excellence at both UH Richmond Medical Center and UH Bedford Medical Center.

The projects included a new 2nd–story vertical expansion for a Heart Catherization Lab and support spaces at UH Richmond Medical Center. The new spaces were constructed over the existing Emergency Room and Main Lobby of the suburban healthcare facility.

At UH Bedford Medical Center, MCM completed a 10,400 sf interior renovation of the existing 4th Floor for their new program that included new state-of-the-art technology typically only available in downtown Cleveland.

The majority of the electrical, plumbing and mechanical work required for both projects were done in occupied areas of the facilities below making it necessary to coordinate with the nursing staff during the high volume winter season and temporarily relocate patients.

Despite these challenges, the project’s very aggressive schedules were met and the work was completed under budget. MCM also maintained all interim life safety measures and delivered the projects without incidents.
