The Nottingham-Spirk Innovation Center is one of MCM’s premier accomplishments because of its unique adaptive re-use for a cutting edge business.

As the Developer and Construction Manager, MCM transformed the former urban church into the corporate headquarters for a team of highly creative, local inventors. As the developer, we assisted the Owner in securing historic tax credits and conservation easement equity while also managing the design aspects of the project that were required to ensure that the historic integrity was not lost.

Sitting atop a busy hill, overlooking Cleveland’s famed Little Italy, this project brought-forth the idea of marrying the craftsmanship of yesteryear with state-of-the-art construction technology available in today’s progressive construction industry.

Through the utilization of new lighting, computer designed technology elements, new infrastructure, and code upgrades, the once neglected building was transformed back to its original splendor. From the seamless construction of a 10,000 sf addition, to the complete restoration of the magnificent pipe organ, uniquely talented craftsmen worked day and night to complete this one-of-a-kind project.

Although the guidelines to restore a historical landmark were challenging, our project management team ennsured that this project was completed to the expectations of a twenty-first century business.
